Effective lymphedema management does not stop when the day ends. While daytime compression plays a critical role in controlling swelling during activity, patients are equally vulnerable to lymphatic fluid reaccumulating during periods of rest and sleep. Reduced muscle pump activity and prolonged positioning at night can contribute to rebound edema, discomfort, and compromised skin and tissue health.
Without adequate overnight support, progress achieved through daytime therapy may be diminished, making continuity of compression an essential component of long‑term lymphedema care.
